The Episcopal Church strives to live by the message of Christ, in which there are no outcasts and all are welcome. Walking a middle way between Roman Catholicism and Protestant traditions, we are a sacramental and worship-oriented church that promotes thoughtful debate about what God is calling us to do and be, as followers of Christ.
We have created a set of pamphlets about The Episcopal Church. They are available in the Parish Hall foyer at St. James, and in PDF format here. Additional pamphlets about St. James Episcopal Church in particular are available in print form and here.
If you have not been baptized with water in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, plans for initiation into our Christian fellowship leading to baptism and communion will be made.
If you have been baptized in another Christian denomination, your certificate or statement of baptism will be requested. We offer Inquirers' Classes several times each year for adults who will be confirmed or received (as appropriate) by a bishop of The Episcopal Church.
If you are transferring your membership from another Episcopal Church, we will assist in requesting a letter of transfer from your previous parish.
