Babies

cradleroll.jpgWe love babies! When a St. James family welcomes a new life to the world, we want to help you celebrate and share the news. Please contact us so we can spread the word in our newsletters.

The Guild of the Christ Child would like to visit with the new family, perhaps bring dinner if that would be of help, and bring a gift and information about baptism.

And, we'll bring by a yard sign to announce to your friends and neighbors the arrival of your baby, and St. James' newest parishioner!

Children

For the youngest parishioners, we have two programs of Sunday morning education:

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd curriculum for children ages three-9, is rooted in the Bible, the liturgy of the church, and the educational principles of Maria Montessori. Children gather in an "atrium," a room prepared for them, which contains simple yet beautiful materials they use to help them absorb the most essential proclamations of the Christian faith.

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is held on alternate Sunday mornings in the children's area on the second floor of the Parish Hall during the ten a.m. "CE/Coffee Hour," during the school year.

Youngsters in fourth and fifth grades meet in the Golden Thread room, also on the second floor of the Parish Hall at 10:00 a.m. on Sundays through the school year.

We welcome all children to participate fully in worship, sit among us, sing along with us or in one of the Children's Choirs, and take communion once baptized. For those parents and children who would prefer, we have a professionally-staffed nursery available for children four years of age and younger from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. each Sunday.

Youth Programs are here, and those geared toward Young Adults (20s & 30s) are here.
