Sr. Joan Chittister, OSB has been a visionary voice for more than 30 years focusing on justice, peace and equality, especially for women - in the church and in society. A social psychologist and communications theorist with a doctorate from Penn State University, Sister Joan is a best selling author and well-known international lecturer promoting peace and equality.

Sister Joan serves as co-chair of the Global Peace Initiative of Women, a UN partner organization, facilitating a worldwide network of women peace builders, particularly in Israel and Palestine. She is also a founding member of the inter-religious International Committee for the Peace Council, and; founder of Benetvision, a resource and research center for contemporary spirituality.
